The Art of Building

Building Your Home

I have my own hard hat.

It’s a bit of a joke. My wife bought it for me when we decided to build our own custom home. I was really into the process and pretty excited about it, so she bought me one! I was enthusiastic and energized.

At first we were a little shy about the pre-fab process. When we built our first home, we used a traditional stick builder. I went to the site every night and walked through the house. I loved to see the little changes that happened from day to day. But I have to say, I was a little disconcerted when the first big rain soaked my brand new stick frame. As I watched the puddles grow in slight hollows on the plywood on the first floor, I have to admit, I thought to myself: “That can’t be good.”

Rain, sleet, snow and wind are natural hazards of stick building. Your house is built outside, at risk of inclement weather. Royal Homes’ factory protects your home against the whims of the weather.

Our project lead from Royal Homes invited us to the factory when our home was being built.

WOW.

Seriously, you have to see it to believe it. The process is so well planned. The carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other trades people know what they are doing. The system is precise – but not mechanical. All the work is done by skilled craftsmen. But the advantage is that the frame and form are engineered to perfection. Because of the indoor process, rigid adherence to angles and joints results in precision.

I was really fascinated to see how Royal Homes used technology to assist carpenters and skilled workers. The system didn’t interfere with the work, it enhanced it. The factory is built with safety and efficiency in mind.

The other thing that impressed me was the flexibility of the system.

The system is designed to be most effective when building custom designs. Each home is unique. The team is extremely skilled, from small bungalows for the empty nester, to elaborate family homes. Royal Homes even constructs offices and multi-storey buildings.

Love our Royal Home. The house was as promised and on time June 2014. The interior and exterior were flawless. The workers are pleasant and have an excellent work ethic. Any small problems have been fixed without any issues. Unlike many builders. The detail in the house is as perfect as you will ever get. Thanks for an awesome home.Kenny
