Moving into 2023, it’s time to take a look at the freshest trends we are seeing in home decor. Our design aesthetics will take us back to the 1970s in the coming year. Nostalgic 70’s themed furniture and nods to nature with earthy tones paired with rich saturated hues seem to be on the horizon. Read on to see our top 10 interior decor trends for 2023.

Earthy tones and bold patterns are all marks of an era of retro design that is recently making a comeback in big ways. From Floral wallpaper all the way down to shag area rugs, people are once again embracing the bold styles of the 70s. Here is a great article coving some of the stand-out pieces people are learning to love once again.

How to Find and Save on Retro Furniture & Home Decor Trends 2023:

  • Don’t be afraid to try lesser-known brands. The cost of popular names tends to be higher, and acquiring them can be more challenging. Learn about the options available by researching the item or style you desire.
  • Visit an estate sale or antique auction with a friend. The best way to spot swollen prices is to attend multiple events and feel out your local market.
  • Furniture from the past can be purchased online. Avoid online shopping risks by sticking to trusted websites, like 1st Dibs or Chairish.
  • Visit antique stores, fairs, and markets regularly. Perseverance is the key to finding what you’re looking for at the best price.

2. Rich Color Accents

In the same way that interior design continues to embrace colour, from beige to jewel tones and warm monochromatic schemes, so will artwork, according to Natalia Miyar, a professional designer. ‘Although a neutral wall is wonderful for art, the juxtaposition of a bold artwork against a wall is incredibly effective,’ she says.

Although some may still prefer sparse spaces in 2023, maximalism is definitely on trend. An art gallery wall is an excellent addition to a maximalist room for displaying photos, personal items, and artwork.

In a gallery wall, filling it with meaningful pieces that reflect your taste and personality is much more on trend than generic prints. Utilize frames with similar shapes or finishes to tie it all together.

4. Marvellous Marble

This could include prebuilt panels or partially site built specific rooms.
